  • Jaime and Craig's Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Jaime and Craig's
wedding. The wedding vows were really wonderful, and emotional. As a
photographer it's not appropriate for me to turn on the waterworks --
but I have to admit I came pretty close. If Jaime looks
familiar it's because she was in another wedding featured on this blog
(Roxanne and Dominick's wedding this past August).

Here's a funny shot of Jaime blowing the hair out of her eyes.

  • Colleen & David's Wedding

I'm neck deep in beautiful wedding photos, literally. Well, almost. Actually, I'm busy editing Colleen & David's photos from this past Friday. They were married at the Lessing's Timber Point Mansion in Great River, New York. The maitre'd is Teo, and he's a first-class gentleman. Everyone, including the vendors received the royal treatment.

Colleen and her Mom, Jackie, look beautiful.

The day started at Colleen's parent's house in Holtsville, NY. The family dog, Isabella, was so funny and adorable. Most dogs bark when you enter the house. Isabella however, barks most when she thinks you're going to leave.

    Isabella!

Colleen and David were lucky with the weather. Although it was raining off and on, we had enough dry periods to get some outdoor photos.

Michael (Dad) & Colleen arrive at the church.

This photo will make a great double-page spread for the album.

  • Cielo & Scott's Nautical Nuptials...

Wedding Ahoy! Argh, avast me harties, and shiver me timbers, this wedding was more fun than eating fish-n-chips in Davey Jones locker. Oops, I better knock of the pirate talk, because International Talk Like A Pirate Day was September 19, 2008, but, Cielo and Scott's wedding was yesterday, September 20, 2008. Which was a fantastic day to tie a nautical knot (sorry couldn't resist). The weather was perfect -- in the low 70's with a light breeze.

What a fun wedding! The day began at the Hilton Milennium Hotel in NYC. The ceremony took place at The Seaman's Church, followed by family photos on the roof, and culminating in a fabulous cruise around Manhattan aboard the La Romantica Yacht leaving from Southstreet Seaport. Cielo and Scott planned their wedding from their home in California. To make coordination much easier they hired super-duper wedding planner extraordinaire Emily Lester of EM Event Management NYC.

    Here's a brief photo selection:

Q: What's better than a cool shot of the bride (Cielo) in the limo?
A: A double reflection of the photographer -- Me!
Not to worry, I took several without my reflection.
Seriously, as frequent viewers to this blog already know, I love having fun with reflections -- Just check out my reflection web site World Of Wagner (WOW).

Scott looks handsome from any angle.

    Here's an unusual ring/hand shot.

This photo was taken on the Seaman's Church rooftop at 241 Water Street.

Ceilo and Scott hounded by the paparazzi. New Yorkers are so brazen!

Cielo & Scott quickly became pros at doing the dip.
On the way from the chapel to the boat, Cielo's nephew Jordan (kneeling) ran into some of his skateboarding buddies, who were happy to mug for the camera. Jordan can olley a 4-stair -- NICE!

Cielo & Scott strut their stuff.

Check out the waterfall underneath the Brooklyn Bridge.

Scott really knows how to sweep a girl off her feet.

"OMG the pictures are amazing, you're way too fast. these are great. We didn't even remember your being around for some of the shots. You were great to work with, and our families loved you too.  We just got back to Cali, and just exhausted, and still incredibly elated on cloud nine, the pictures capture all that emotion." -- Cielo

  • Strange Reality

I photographed the following photo of a musical duo composed of a woodland nymph/fairy, and a folksy guitarist in Penn Station, New York. I was waiting for my Long Island Railroad Train, and couldn't resist the opportunity to shoot such pixel-worthy subjects. They actually sounded pretty good. I admire anyone with the courage to wear green wings in public. I also like the juxtaposition between the fairy and the soldiers, because they're both dressed for adventures far from common-place realities.

I wish I had given the duo my wedding photographer business card, as I can only imagine how unusual, and fun their wedding attire/celebration would be -- think Peter Pan meets Victoria Secret.

  • Regina & Brian Marry at Historic Chapel, Woodbury NY

Less than 24-hours ago I had the pleasure of photographing Regina &
Brian's wedding ceremony. Tomorrow morning, I'm headed to my New York City commercial photo studio to do a shoot for Barnes & Noble. Samples of my non-wedding photography may be viewed HERE.

Not every couple needs a photographer for the
whole day, and from time to time I'm asked to provide only a few hours
coverage. As long as I have the date available, I'm more than happy to
oblige. Actually, it's amazing how many wonderful photos I'm able to
create during a short time span. In Regina and Brian's case, the
after-editing photo count came in at 492. Here are a few of my favorites:

Flower girls can never resist taking a quick peek.

"Hi Dan, We just returned from our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with your incredible work. Thanks so much; we love the pictures. You truly did a great job, and included many real artistic shots, especially under the time constraints.  We thank you very much for helping to make our special day a GREAT DAY!  We are truly grateful, and will recommend your professional work to all.

  • Naomi, Brett, and Hurricane Hana

This past Saturday, Naomi and Brett got married at the Huntington Yacht
Club. Naomi and Brett are both avid sailors, and hoped to make their
arrival on their sailboat. Unfortunately, fate conspired to put a
damper on the day in the form of fast-moving Tropical Storm Hurricane
Hana. Luckily the winds were much less than predicted, and the wedding
was a great success. Clancy, the maître d ran the reception perfectly.
The food and DJ (Variety Music) were phenomenal.

We were planning on making the most of the seaside location by taking
sunset and harbor wedding photos. Hopefully, Naomi and Brett can
schedule a time in the near future to get together at the Yacht Club
and take these shots when the weather is better.

If any readers of this blog are interested in getting married at the Huntington Yacht Club, give me a call and I'll give you the skinny (info).

Brett and the rains of Hana arrive at the same time.

Naomi and Brett make a handsome couple.

Brett and Naomi's mothers did a great job positioning the gown.

The crowd was wowed by Naomi and Brett's ballroom dancing.

This was as close as we came to taking outside photos.

  • Tiffany & Dudley's Wonderful Wedding

As readers of my blog are well aware, I look forward to all the
weddings I photograph. Each wedding is unique, and special. Tiffany and
Dudley's wedding was no exception. I liked them the moment I met them,
and was deeply impressed by their sincerity, and affection.

The ceremony and reception were at Nanina's In The Park
in Belleville, New Jersey. It's a wonderful location for photography.
The garden, bridge, balcony, lobby stairs, and marble dance floor are
    beautiful. Julian the maître'd
was friendly, and very helpful. I arrived at Nanina's 2 hours ahead of
schedule to make certain I didn't get caught in New York City traffic,
and to allow for ample time to get organized.

    Tiffany's bridesmaids were very attentive.

Dudley looks like he stepped out of the pages of G.Q. Magazine.

Watch out, or you'll get trapped by the wedding gown.

    Too cute!

The dancers added to the wedding festivities.

    Here's a fun cake shot.

    It
was 12:30 in the morning, the guests had left, and Tiffany and Dudley
have the happy, contented look of a couple who've just had a perfect
    wedding day.

  • Carla & Christer's DeSeversky Mansion Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Carla & Christer's wedding at the DeSeversky Mansion in Old Westbury, New York. For the photographers who visit my blog, I'd like to share a very useful tip for photographing a wedding with a Swedish groom and family -- cheese is called OST in Swedish. I doubt I pronounced it correctly, but it didn't seem to matter as everyone smiled anyway. As the following pictures show, the flowers, food, band, reverend, service, setting, etc. were all wonderful, and everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest.

The best thing to wear to a wedding is a big smile.

    I love photographing reflections.
    Jag älskar att fotografera reflexioner.

Did I mention I love photographing reflections? Christer reminds me of a young Paul McCartney.

Ost! A few minutes after completing this photo we were hit with a huge thunderstorm.
Ost!

Ava took her job as a flower girl very seriously. Behind Ava is Sophie. The rain added to the great ambiance, and made a beautiful sound as it beat upon the sloped glass ceiling above the guests.

Shots like this put a smile on my face, too.

Mothers, don't let your children grow up to be photographers.

Is it possible to have too much fun? Nah.
Går det att ha för mycket kul? Nah.

    The happy couple.
    De lyckliga par.

To the bride's visiting this blog, this is the expression of joy I hope to capture on your wedding day.
